Day 6: What knitting do you aspire to?

I love this question. I knit a lot and can knit almost anything I lay my eyes on. There may be a lot of ripping and trying it over agian but in the end I get it.

The one thing I have never really sat down and done is a major lace project with lace yarn.

I have a lot of lace yarn.

Brooklyn Tweed

I have dream lace projects.

But I have yet to cast on a major lace project with lace weight yarn and go for it. I think I am afraid of the multitude of ripping that is going to happen. It is one thing to knit and rip out lace in dk or worsted yarn. It is even ok to rip fingering as long as you have that size 0 needle to pick the stitches back up with. But lace weight yarn????

I will be putting life lines in every two rows I know it.

Awolian Shawl is the project that I have been waiting to cast on. I saw it knit up at stitches west 1 1/2 years ago in the Habu booth.

It was knit in Habu's bamboo lace yarn. This shawl was breath taking. After looking at all of this again maybe I should really try to conquer this over the summer.
